Writers Block

Lyrics

I've been having writers block for way too long..

It seems my life is just too good to write a country song.

Lord, if you can hear me, can you change the situation?

I need a scandal, & a broken heart To bring me inspiration

You know that I don't ask you for a lot of things.

And a sliver of some tragedy Would mean the world to me

The sorta pain that really stings, Something I can feel.

That's the only chance I got To land this record deal.

So, just kill my dog & have a jilted lover smash my truck?

Do you even care? Now, it ain't fair. I should be running out of luck.

If I get hammered?

have a one night stander?

Start a brawl down at the bar?

Will it get me on radio, so I can be a star?

See, I don't wanna take my fate Into my own hands.

But I'm pretty sure you're sayin That you got other plans

Lord, if you can hear me & my prayer of desperation?

I need some drama if I'm ever gonna Make it on an FM station

I've been told a million times Gotta write about what you know

And perfect, boring, unassuming lives...

Don't make it on the radio...

No no no..

So, just kill my dog & have a jilted lover smash my truck?

Do you even care? Now, it ain't fair I should be running out of luck.

If I get plastered & lower my standards For the low-life at the bar?

Will he get me on radio, so I can be a star?
